Rural Fire Service volunteers (RFS) are set to be celebrated at a Family Day at the award-winning The Depot car museum in Deniliquin this Sunday.
The Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) will provide free lunch and entry to The Depot for volunteers and their families, providing some well-deserved R&R for members.
The Depot boasts a historic vehicle and memorabilia collection, providing visitors with an immersive experience amongst family-friendly interactive displays and activities.
RFSA President Scott Campbell said Family Days recognised the immense value of volunteers and were a way of acknowledging families for their support of RFS firefighters.
“We are looking forward to catching up with RFS volunteers on Sunday ahead of what could be a busy few months,” Mr Campbell said.
“The Family Days are a small way of saying thank you to firefighters for the enormous sacrifices they make for our communities whether that is responding to bushfires or other emergency situations.
“The RFSA exists to support members who give up their precious time to help our communities under what can be incredibly challenging circumstances. They deserve to be celebrated.”
The RFSA Family Day on Sunday 20 September at The Depot will run from 10am to 3pm.
