Key Facts:
  • Borger Cranes, one of Australia's leading crane hire and rigging companies, has taken delivery of its 100th Hino truck — a Hino 700 Series SS 2848 prime mover featuring Indigenous-inspired livery, celebrating the company's heritage as a large Indigenous-owned family business.
  • The company employs over 1,100 people and operates a fleet of 320 cranes and over 270 vehicles, including Hino 300, 500, and 700 Series trucks used across heavy infrastructure, civil construction, renewable energy, and commercial building projects throughout Australia.
  • A celebratory event was hosted by City Hino at Borger's Glendenning, New South Wales premises, attended by staff, customers, and representatives from Hino Australia and City Hino, with Hino Australia's President & CEO Richard Emery presenting a commemorative plaque.
  • Borger's General Manager Shawn Borger cited the variety of automatic and automated manual transmissions across Hino's range as a key reason for choosing the brand, alongside the strong relationship with dealer City Hino, describing them as more than business partners.
  • Since first adding the heavy-duty 700 Series in 2024, it now comprises over 20% of Borger's Hino fleet, reflecting a broader trend of satisfied 300 and 500 Series customers expanding into Hino's heavy-duty range.

One of Australia’s leading crane hire and rigging companies, Borger Cranes has taken delivery of its 100th Hino truck, a distinctive Hino 700 Series SS 2848 prime mover.

The Indigenous-liveried truck will be used to transport auxiliary equipment such as counter-weights.

Employing over 1100 people, Borger Cranes fleet encompasses 320 cranes and over 270 vehicles including a mix of Hino 300 Series light-duty, 500 Series medium-duty, and 700 Series heavy-duty trucks that are utilised on heavy infrastructure, civil construction, renewable energy, and commercial building projects across Australia.

To mark the occasion, City Hino recently hosted an event at Borger’s premises in Glendenning, New South Wales, celebrating the truck delivery. The event was attended by Borger staff, key customers, and representatives from both Hino Australia and City Hino.

“Hino offers a variety of automatic and automated manual transmissions (ATMs) across its range, which are easier to drive for our operators,” said Shawn Borger, General Manager of Borger Crane Hire.

“My father, who founded Borger Cranes, is Aboriginal and we're very proud of being a large Indigenous-owned family business, which we wanted to celebrate on the livery of our 100th Hino truck,” he said.

Key to Borger’s choice of Hino trucks is the relationship they share with City Hino.

“With City Hino, we have a dealership that listens and responds – they are more than business partners, they are friends,” he concluded.

Borger’s fleet of Hino trucks play a vital role in the business with the larger 500 Series and 700 Series used to transport equipment and the light-duty 300 Series trucks acting as escort and traffic control vehicles.

Hino Australia’s President & CEO Richard Emery congratulated Borger on the milestone and presented them with a commemorative plaque.

“Borger Cranes is one of a growing number of Hino customers that have added our heavy-duty 700 Series to their fleets, following success with the quality, durability and reliability of our light-duty 300 Series and medium-duty 500 Series trucks,” he said.

“Our enhanced 700 Series range supports a broader range of applications and industries which means we are increasingly seeing satisfied 300 and 500 Series customers move away from other brands to add 700 Series to their fleets.”

“Borger first added the 700 Series to its fleet in 2024, and it now comprises over 20% of its Hino fleet,” he continued.

City Hino General Manager Daniel Glynn praised the collaborative nature of the relationship with Borger Cranes.

“Our team has worked closely with the Borger team for almost a decade throughout the business including in parts, service and fleet.

“It’s a relationship that has got many layers from the owners of the business through to the apprentice who comes and pics up the parts from our parts counter,” he continued.

“We look forward to the relationship continuing for many years to come,” he concluded.
