Major investment to create 1,100 construction jobs as Habitat Development Group continues its commitment to the Sunshine Coast
Leading Sunshine Coast developer and builder Habitat Development Group has welcomed Sunshine Coast Council's approval of its Rivianne development, following strong community support during the public consultation period, paving the way for a striking new architectural landmark at the gateway to the emerging Maroochydore CBD.
The 18-storey mixed-use development, located on a prominent 3,468sqm site on Aerodrome Road, will deliver 180 residential apartments, five ground-floor retail tenancies and an extensive range of resort-style resident facilities.
The project is expected to engage approximately 1,100 workers during construction, providing a significant boost to the local construction industry and supporting the continued growth of the Sunshine Coast economy.
Habitat Development Group Founder and Managing Director Cleighton Clark said the approval represented another important milestone for both the company and the future of Maroochydore.
"We're very excited to receive development approval for Rivianne. Obviously we're biased, but we feel it's one of the best sites in the CBD by virtue of it being the most northerly with the most northerly aspect.
"It is also a prominent gateway site to the emerging CBD, and we have always believed this location deserves something architecturally special," Mr Clark said.
"Our design team deserves a lot of credit for creating a striking and timeless building. Our goal is to create a landmark building that the Sunshine Coast community can be proud of."
Mr Clark acknowledged Sunshine Coast Council's long-term vision for the Maroochydore city centre and its commitment to creating a vibrant, modern and economically significant regional CBD.
"Council deserves a lot of recognition for its vision in planning the future of Maroochydore and creating the foundations for what will become one of Australia's most exciting new CBD precincts," he said.
"We strongly support that vision and believe private investment from local industry has an important role to play in bringing that vision to life," he said.
Mr Clark also thanked the community for its strong support during the public consultation period.

Rivianne will feature contemporary architecture incorporating extensive landscaping, generous balconies and a distinctive building form designed to complement its prominent gateway location.
A standout feature will be the extensive rooftop recreation precinct, incorporating a 25-metre infinity-edge swimming pool, wellness facilities including a sauna, steam room and plunge pools, private dining and entertaining spaces, landscaped terraces and resident relaxation areas.
Mr Clark said "the combination of location, architecture, amenity and panoramic northerly views make Rivianne an exceptional residential offering."
CONSTRUCTION TARGETED FOR 2027
Habitat intends to commence construction during 2027, building on the success of its established portfolio of major apartment projects across the Sunshine Coast, including Market Lane, The Corso, St Clair, The Millwell and Esperance.
Mr Clark said early enquiries from prospective purchasers had been very encouraging.
"We've already received very positive early interest from buyers looking to secure a quality apartment in the emerging CBD, which reinforces our confidence in both the project and the future of Maroochydore," he said.
