International and local experts unite in Adelaide to advance gynaecological cancer care
Registrations open for ANZGOG’s 2027 Annual Scientific Meeting
Coming together to turn shared ambition into action, international and local experts will gather in Adelaide from 21–23 April 2027 to advance research and care for women with gynaecological cancers.
Registrations are now open for the Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group’s (ANZGOG) 27th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), to be held at Amora Hotel Adelaide, on Kaurna Country.
Under the theme “The Collective Leap: United Action in Gynaecological Cancer”, researchers, clinicians, allied health professionals, lived experience advocates and industry partners will explore emerging evidence, build collaborations and identify ways to translate discoveries into better clinical care.
ANZGOG CEO Caitlin Francis said progress in gynaecological cancer depends on the research and care that we advance together.
“For women with a gynaecological cancer, progress means more effective treatments, better quality of life and more time with the people they love. This meeting brings together the expertise needed to strengthen research and help discoveries reach the women who need them.” Ms Francis said.
Three confirmed international keynote speakers will share expertise across treatment development, surgery, radiation oncology and access to care:
-
Dr Stephanie Lheureux, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Canada: early drug development and translational research, with a particular focus on ovarian cancer.
-
Dr Anisa Mburu, Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa, Kenya: gynaecological cancer surgery, cervical cancer prevention and improving access to care in underserved communities.
-
Professor Remi Nout, Erasmus Medical Center, the Netherlands: radiation oncology and international trials advancing treatment for endometrial and cervical cancers.
Building on record attendance in 2026, the three-day program will feature international keynote presentations, the Pure Science Symposium and targeted workshops in radiation oncology, early career researcher development, nursing, study coordination and gynaecological oncology.
ASM Chair Associate Professor Emma Allanson said the program would challenge delegates to look beyond their own disciplines.
“Each of us sees a different part of the challenge. Bringing those perspectives together helps us ask better research questions, build new partnerships and improve care,” A/Professor Allanson said.
“We want delegates to leave Adelaide with fresh ideas and collaborations they can put into practice.”
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to hear from local and world-leading experts in gynaecological oncology. Registration is now open for healthcare professionals and industry partners. Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are also available.
ANZGOG's 2027 ASM is supported by Business Events Adelaide.
