MasterChef reunion for Poh and Sanjeev Kapoor

Poh and Sanjeev Kapoor reunite to put Australian almonds on the menu

From the MasterChef Australia kitchen to the Australian Almond Conference, Poh Ling Yeow and Sanjeev Kapoor will reunite on Tuesday 13 October 2026 to showcase Australian almonds through their distinctive culinary styles.

The collaboration follows Kapoor’s appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia earlier this year, when he challenged the top nine contestants with a Mystery Box showcasing Indian ingredients.

Their one-hour session, International MasterChef collaboration, will run from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm, bringing together live cooking, conversation and inspiration for using Australian almonds.

Kapoor will prepare his Badam Ki Biryani, while Australian Almonds Ambassador Poh will unveil an exciting new Australian Almonds dish: Torched Marshmallow Meringue with Roasted Almonds, Passionfruit and Mascarpone Yoghurt.

Together, the dishes will demonstrate the versatility of Australian almonds across savoury and sweet cooking. Drawing on their cultural influences, personal food stories and individual approaches to cooking, Poh and Sanjeev will explore the flavour and texture almonds bring to the plate.

Throughout the demonstration, the chefs will share practical preparation tips, insights into their recipes and ideas for incorporating almonds into different cuisines and everyday meals.

For delegates from across the almond industry, the collaboration will connect the work of Australian growers and producers with the creativity their almonds inspire in the kitchen—and the opportunities to bring them to more plates around the world.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample both dishes following the demonstration, prepared in advance by the venue’s catering team in collaboration with the chefs.

A photo opportunity with Poh Ling Yeow and Sanjeev Kapoor will be available following the session.

Media are invited to capture the chefs together with their finished dishes, celebrating the culinary possibilities of Australian almonds.
