At just 13 years old, Sunshine Coast author Lincoln Rawlins is preparing to launch his third published children's book. The young author, who became one of Australia's youngest published authors when he released Sprout's Idea at the age of eight, is continuing his remarkable literary journey with the release of Sprout's Dream.

The latest instalment in the beloved Sprout series follows the adventures of the lovable young seedling readers have come to know and adore. This time, Sprout discovers that dreams don't simply happen by chance. Through determination, creativity and perseverance, he learns that achieving something meaningful often begins with believing it is possible in the first place.

The book builds on the positive messages that have become a hallmark of Lincoln's writing, encouraging young readers to embrace their passions, overcome challenges and pursue their dreams.

Lincoln's publishing journey began in 2022 when he was invited to present a story about hope at the Secret Oasis Festival on the Sunshine Coast. The then eight-year-old captivated an audience of more than 100 people with a tale about a young seedling named Sprout, inspiring audience members to encourage him to turn the story into a book.

What followed was the publication of Sprout's Idea, a story of kindness, teamwork and positivity that earned national attention and an endorsement from bestselling Australian children's author Andy Griffiths.

Since then, Lincoln has built an impressive resume that includes school visits, festival appearances, author panels and media interviews. He has read his work to hundreds of children, appeared at literary events and even became the featured storyteller aboard Bonza's inaugural Sunshine Coast to Darwin flight, reading Sprout's Idea to passengers as an in-flight bedtime story. Now, the young author is preparing for his biggest launch yet.

Adding to the excitement is the involvement of Powderfinger drummer Jon Coghill, who has endorsed Sprout's Dream and will appear as a special guest at the launch event.

“I wanted to endorse Lincoln's book because it's a cool story about drumming and inspiration,” Mr Coghill said.

“My first impression of Lincoln was that he loved telling stories. He loved being an author. I also loved the illustrations. Sprout is a lovely character too, loveable and unstoppable.

“It has been so exciting to see the book come together.”

For Lincoln, having the support of one of Australia's most respected musicians is both exciting and humbling.

The launch event at Rush Adventureland on October 17 at 5pm will give readers and families the opportunity to celebrate the release of Sprout's Dream, meet Lincoln and Jon, have books signed and hear firsthand about the creative process behind the latest Sprout adventure all while enjoying exclusive access to one of the biggest indoor playgrounds on the Coast.

Lincoln's journey is proof that great stories can come from anyone, regardless of age, and that sometimes the smallest seed can grow into something extraordinary.
