  • Around one in three Australians (33 per cent) own cryptocurrency, according to a 2026 Independent Reserve survey, highlighting the scale of demand for reliable crypto tax tools.
  • DECA is Australia's national industry body representing the digital economy, bringing together industry, government and regulators to advance policy and innovation; it was formerly known as Blockchain Australia before rebranding in 2024.
  • pafin Inc., cryptact's operator, says membership of DECA will keep the company close to the policy debate and local market expertise, enabling Australian investors to lodge tax returns with greater confidence.

Launched in Australia in July, cryptact will work with local experts to help crypto investors lodge accurate tax returns

cryptact, crypto tax software with more than 300,000 users, has joined the Digital Economy Council of Australia (DECA) as a business member, its operator pafin Inc. announced today. As a member, cryptact will share its experience in crypto tax calculation with Australia’s digital economy community.

cryptact launched in Australia in July 2026, its fourth market after Japan, Canada (February 2025) and India (July 2025). About one in three Australians (33 per cent) own cryptocurrency, according to a 2026 survey by Independent Reserve.1

For investors, crypto is generally taxed under Australia’s capital gains tax (CGT) rules,2 and those rules continue to change, including a recent overhaul of the CGT discount for long-term holdings.3 Investors need a crypto tax tool that keeps up with these changes as they happen.

The Digital Economy Council of Australia (https://deca.org.au/) is the national industry body representing organisations across Australia’s rapidly evolving digital economy. It brings industry, government and regulators together to advance informed policy, responsible innovation and Australia’s economic competitiveness. Its origins trace back to 2014, and it adopted its current name in 2024 after operating as Blockchain Australia.

“cryptact gives Australian investors accurate, transparent calculations of their crypto gains and losses,” said Amin Azmoudeh, Co-CEO of pafin Inc. “It is the same approach that has earned the trust of our users. Tax rules here keep changing, so getting it right means staying close to the policy debate and to the people who work in this market every day. Joining DECA puts us in that conversation, so investors here can lodge with confidence.”
