Europa Metals (ASX/JSE: EUZ) Chief Executive Torey Marshall arrives back in Austria, putting the company’s leadership on site as the explorer moves from planning into fieldwork across its antimony, gold and tungsten portfolio.
The visit comes at a key point in Europa’s calendar. Geophysical reprocessing is under way through October and November. Geophysical surveys at the flagship Kreuzeck West project are scheduled for November–December, and initial drilling is slated for March 2027. With the CEO on site, Europa can move faster on stakeholder engagement, permits and contractor tenders, the groundwork that decides whether an early-stage explorer meets its timetable.
Torey Marshall says, “For as much time as practically possible I will be splitting my time between Austria and Australia as we progress works, engaging with the local team, supervising technical work/contractors and dealing face-to-face with key stakeholders. Post listing there is a mountain of work to do and our small team of hyper motivated people are very busy. Like all shareholders, I look forward to the commencement of meaningful work on the ground in Austria due soon.”
Kreuzeck West is the centrepiece. Its historic Hermann Stollen mine produced 5,480 tonnes of stibnite, around 44.5% of Austria’s historic antimony output, and historic channel sampling returned up to 18 g/t gold. The project covers 44 concessions along a roughly 9km trend, with more than 3km of underground development and 11 named adits.
Kreuzeck East and Goldeck-Siflitz make up Europa’s other two priority projects. The full portfolio runs along a mineralised corridor of about 40km.
The strategic case is strong. Antimony is essential for defence, energy storage and advanced technologies, yet Europe still imports most of what it uses. The EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act offers fast-tracked permitting for strategic projects. Austria has more than 5,600 recorded historic mineral occurrences, but little of it has been explored with modern techniques.
Marshall is also Europa’s largest shareholder, with a 14.9% stake. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in cross-border transactions, stakeholder management and exploration, the skills needed to turn historic workings into modern drill targets.
