The board of the Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (BACHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Forrester as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Jay has worked across a diverse range of rural, remote and urban locations administering clinical services, program development, and executive management. His work has consistently centred on strengthening workforce capability, enhancing service delivery and fostering partnerships that support holistic and culturally safe health outcomes.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Jay served as Deputy CEO at BACHS, where he led significant improvements in service delivery, supported staff development, and reinforced collaboration across programs. His leadership style is grounded in integrity, strategic vision, and a strong belief in community-led solutions.

Jay continues to champion innovation, equity, and excellence in rural health, ensuring BACHS remains a trusted and responsive provider of care in western New South Wales.

“Jay brings steady leadership and a clear path for the work ahead,” said James Moore, BACHS board chair. “He knows our community, knows our services and will guide the organisation through its next chapter.”

Under Jay’s leadership, BACHS will continue to provide a wide range of services, including primary healthcare, mental health support, chronic disease management and health promotion programs. His appointment also reinforces BACHS’ focus on strengthening community partnerships, improving patient experiences and cultivating a supportive workplace culture that values client and staff wellbeing alike.

“I am honoured to lead BACHS,” Jay said. “Our goal is simple. Deliver accessible, culturally safe care and support better health for our people. I look forward to working with staff, partners and community to build on what BACHS has achieved.”
