CIMIC’s CPB Contractors to deliver Queensland’s Gateway to Bruce Upgrade

CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been selected by the Queensland Government to deliver the Gateway to Bruce Upgrade – a transformative infrastructure project to improve safety, connectivity and resilience across the Gateway Motorway and Bruce Highway corridors.

CPB Contractors will deliver the project as part of the Gateway Connect Joint Venture, which includes BMD and Georgiou. CPB Contractors is responsible for 40% of the $950 million contract value.

ACS Group and HOCHTIEF Chief Executive Officer and CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaría said: “CPB Contractors continues to deliver complex infrastructure that strengthens Queensland’s transport network and supports community resilience. This upgrade will enhance safety, reduce congestion, and futureproof the corridor against climate and population pressures – delivering long-term value for Queenslanders.”

Key features include:

  • Additional lanes on the Gateway Motorway
  • Improved connections to Bracken Ridge Road and Deagon Deviation
  • Upgrades to the Gateway Motorway curve at Bracken Ridge
  • Replacing the Wyampa Road overpass
  • Staged improvements to the Gateway Motorway, Bruce Highway and Gympie Arterial Road interchange
  • Shared active transport pathways
  • Wildlife protection fencing and underpasses.
