The Minister will visit His Majesty’s Naval Base Devonport, where the UK undertakes operational, training and maintenance activities for its naval fleet, including deep level submarine maintenance.

He will meet with Australian Defence Force personnel deployed on Operation Kudu, part of the multinational program to train Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the United Kingdom.

Minister Keogh will meet with Invictus Games Foundation officials ahead of the next Games, to be held in Birmingham, UK in 2027.

Quotes attributable to Matt Keogh MP, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel:

“I’m honoured to represent Australia at this year’s UK Remembrance Day commemorations and reflect on the sacrifice of men and women from both our countries.

“I also welcome the opportunity to meet with United Kingdom counterparts to address shared strategic challenges and enhance our deep and enduring partnership.

“I’m delighted to tour one of the UK’s word-class submarine facilities delivering on the long-term capability needs of AUKUS partners.

Australia is a global leader within the Invictus movement, it is important that we continue generating a wider understanding, and respect for those who serve or have served.”
