American Uranium Advances Lo Herma Development with Successful Hydrogeological Testing and Ongoing Drilling

Jane Morgan Management 2 mins read

Perth, Australia – American Uranium Limited (ASX:AMU; OTCID:AMUIF) is pleased to advise that it has achieved an important technical milestone at its flagship Lo Herma In-Situ Recovery (ISR) Uranium Project in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin, completing a major phase of hydrogeological testing while continuing its resource-expansion drilling program.

The Company confirmed that all wells demonstrated sustained flows and minimal aquifer drawdown, validating key hydrologic characteristics necessary for ISR development. Final results from specialist consultancy Petrotek Corporation are expected before the end of 2025. Testing was completed under the supervision of senior hydrogeologists, with full adherence to ISR field protocols.

Drilling also continues across the northern extensions of proposed Mine Units 1 and 2, where AMU has now completed 38 holes to date. Preliminary geological observations show continuity of mineralised sands and favourable redox conditions - supportive of resource growth ahead of a 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) update.

The combined hydrogeologic and drilling programs are designed to de-risk and advance Lo Herma ahead of an updated Scoping Study planned for 2026.

American Uranium CEO and Executive Director Bruce Lane confirmed:

We are very pleased that the hydrogeological testing program at Lo Herma has been completed as scheduled, with all wells demonstrating sustained flows and minimal aquifer drawdown for the full duration of the tests. The initial test observations are highly encouraging, and we look forward to receiving Petrotek’s report before the end of the year.

Resource expansion drilling has also been progressing as planned, with continuity of mineralised sands and redox conditions observed in the areas north of the proposed Mine Units 1 and 2. Drilling operations are continuing in the area north of Mine Unit 2 before moving back to an area closer to Mine Unit 1. Drilling results will be provided at the conclusion of the resource expansion program in advance of a planned resource update in 2026.

The aquifer testing and drilling programs are targeting improved resource and hydrogeologic confidence as we progress toward an update of the Lo Herma Scoping Study in 2026.

About the Hydrogeological Program

The pump-testing campaign - completed on four previously installed monitor wells during the week of 17 November - was conducted using step-drawdown and sustained-pumping methods. Key parameters recorded included:

  • flow rates

  • water levels

  • aquifer response indicators
all demonstrating the hydrogeologic suitability of Lo Herma for ISR extraction methods.

About the Drilling Program

Drilling is focused on two priority zones:

  • North of Mine Unit 1: 31 holes completed, targeting extensions of mineralisation at ~275m depth.

  • North of Mine Unit 2: 7 holes completed to date, targeting deeper mineralised sands at up to 425m depth, building on the significant 2024 discovery which remains open to the north.

Road and site-access upgrades are also underway to support continued drilling prior to the end-of-year shutdown.
