The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Queensland will convene an Australia Day community gathering at the Stockleigh Mosque as a public forum for reflection, unity, and civic engagement, with approximately 600 people expected to attend. The event will provide an opportunity for Australians from diverse backgrounds to come together and express what Australia Day means to them in a spirit of mutual respect and shared national values.

Those expected to attend include Queensland Senator Paul Scarr, the Mayor of Logan, Mayor Jon Raven, the Federal Member for Forde, Mr Rowan Holzberger MP, along with other political, religious, and community leaders from across the region.

Australia Day celebrations will take place on Sunday, 25th January 2026, at Masjid Bait-ul-Masroor Mosque, Stockleigh, QLD. This event provides an opportunity for people to come together, united in their allegiance to Australia.

A formal ceremonial event will be held at the Bait-ul-Masroor, Stockleigh Mosque. During this ceremony, the Community will honour Australia by hoisting the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem. Community members and invited dignitaries will deliver short thanksgiving speeches, reflecting on the significance of being Australian.

The Imam of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, Queensland, Mohammad Atae Rabbi Hadi stated:

"As the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, we consistently pray for the peace, prosperity, and advancement of Australia. In accordance with our longstanding tradition, we observe Australia Day at our mosques nationwide, standing in solidarity with our country, its institutions, and our fellow Australians. Our faith teaches us that sincere loyalty and service to one’s country of residence are core moral responsibilities."

This day holds special significance for the Community. To commence the celebration, Bait-ul-Masroor, Stockleigh Mosque will offer prayers for the prosperity of Australia. Members of the Community will also actively participate in broader community celebrations throughout the day.

The Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has guided Community members in this regard:

"True loyalty requires a relationship built on sincerity and integrity… It is essential for a citizen of any country to establish a relationship of genuine loyalty and faithfulness to their nation. This applies equally, whether one is a born citizen or has gained citizenship later in life."
