SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA  A new book by Australian cardiologist Dr Hosen Kiat has reached #1 on Amazon across major health categories within 36 hours of release, reigniting debate about whether ageing is more modifiable than commonly believed.

Wisdom from Two Worlds enters the multi-trillion-dollar global longevity market with a blunt counterpoint. Despite unprecedented spending on supplements, optimisation tools and anti-ageing interventions, rates of chronic disease in countries such as Australia continue to rise, with around half of Australians now living with at least one long-term condition.

Dr Kiat argues the problem is not a lack of technology, but a loss of alignment with how humans are biologically designed to live.

“We age faster when we become disconnected from how we are meant to live,” Dr Kiat said. “Longevity isn’t a supplement. It’s alignment.”

After four decades in cardiology and preventative medicine, Dr Kiat developed the PRIME framework, a model centred on purpose, rest, interconnection, movement and eating, to address what he describes as the true drivers of long-term health.

Dr Kiat is a Foundation Professor of Cardiology at Macquarie University, a top 1% cited clinical medicine researcher globally, and has treated more than 100,000 patients over four decades.

“We have turned ageing into a product category,” he said. “But supplements and high-tech optimisation cannot compensate for chronic disconnection from purpose, sleep, relationships, movement and real food.”

Unlike many longevity narratives that emphasise biohacking or pharmaceutical intervention, PRIME focuses on restoring the biological conditions that allow the body to maintain health over time.

The rapid commercial success of the book suggests strong public appetite for evidence-based approaches that move beyond quick fixes toward sustainable health strategies.

Dr Kiat emphasises that his position is not anti-medicine or anti-supplement, but preventative at its core: “Medicine saves lives, but the foundations of health are built long before people become patients.”

Wisdom from Two Worlds is available now via Amazon.
