HCF Extends Netball Australia Partnership Through 2027, Backing Women’s Health and Participation

HCF 3 mins read

WEDNESDAY, 18 MARCH 2026: Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, HCF, has extended its Major Partnership with Netball Australia and Super Netball, continuing as the sport’s official health insurance partner with a focus on women’s health and participation, through to the end of 2027.

The extension builds on a seven-year national partnership that supports netball at every level — from grassroots participation to elite competition — and reflects HCF’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Australian women and the communities they live in.

HCF Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director Lorraine Thomas said netball’s scale and reach made it a powerful platform for advancing women’s health.

“Netball is the number one participation sport for girls in Australia, and that reach gives this partnership real purpose,” Ms Thomas said.

“As Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, HCF exists to improve the health and wellbeing of all Australians. Investing in women’s sport is one of the most direct and meaningful ways we can do that.”

The renewed agreement also includes a two-year extension of HCF’s Principal Partnership with GIANTS Netball. In 2026, HCF will mark a decade of partnership with the club, reflecting a shared commitment to women’s sport and continued investment in the Greater Sydney community.

Building on its role as Premier Partner to the Melbourne Vixens, HCF also welcomes the Melbourne Mavericks into the partnership for the 2026 season, expanding its presence across the league and connecting with a new generation of fans.

Ms Thomas said the partnership went beyond sponsorship, with a focus on collaboration and health education.

“This partnership is about working alongside players, clubs and communities to raise awareness of the health issues that matter most to young women, and to help normalise those conversations in sport and beyond,” she said.

During the 2026 Super Netball season, HCF’s Team Health Score™ returns to broadcast across all matches, offering fans real-time insights into team performance across physical, mental and support metrics.

HCF’s 'Game Day Ready' content series will also feature Super Netball athletes sharing their preparation routines — from nutrition and digital wellness to balancing elite sport with work, study and family life.

Netball Australia's Executive General Manager Super League and Commercial Christine Finnegan welcomed HCF's continued commitment to growing the partnership.

“Netball Australia is pleased to continue its partnership with HCF for a further two years, Finnegan said. "Our shared commitment to empowering Australians of all ages to lead active and healthy lives remains the foundation of this partnership.

As a Major Partner, HCF continues to back Australia's leading team sport for women and girls and the world's best netball league."

New Woodside CEO Liz Westcott must “steer Woodside away from path of destruction” says Greenpeace CEO

Following the appointment of LizWestcott as Woodside’s new Chief Executive, the following comments can be attributed to David Ritter, Chief Executive of Greenpeace Australia Pacific: “Incoming Woodside CEO Liz Westcott has a unique opportunity to steer Woodside away from the path of climate, environmental and economic destruction set by her predecessor Meg O’Neill, and position Woodside as a true ally to Australia’s clean energy future instead. “One of Liz Westcott’s first orders of business should be to put an end to the most controversial, ill-advised fossil fuel projects in Australia’s history: drilling the Browse basin at Scott Reef for gas,…

Rising Oil Prices Fueling Small Business “Insolvency Wave” as Inflation Crushes Margins

Rising Oil Prices Fueling Small Business “Insolvency Wave” as Inflation Crushes Margins As global oil prices surge toward US$120 per barrel following renewed instability in the Middle East, a significant risk is emerging for Australian small businesses — one that may not yet be visible in official insolvency statistics. While the immediate headlines focus on petrol prices and inflation, the secondary effects of rising fuel costs are quietly placing enormous pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Greg Bartels, Director at Halo Advisory, says the current environment could create the conditions for a sharp increase in business failures, particularly among…
