MEDIA ALERT: AI experts on the impact to work and the economy

UNSW Sydney 2 mins read

A panel of experts in artificial intelligence are available to interview ahead of UNSW’s Engineering the Future event on Wednesday April 1.

They will be speaking to a large audience to explain how AI is no longer an emerging technology – but is now an engineered system actively reshaping how societies operate, produce, and grow.

As AI moves from experimentation to integration, the questions are no longer if it will change the world, but how those changes will unfold - economically, socially, and systemically.

What does it mean when intelligence becomes embedded in our energy grids, transport systems, supply chains, workplaces, and cities? What new capabilities are being created - and what second-order effects follow?

The panellists will be available to interview at 5pm before the event at W Sydney in Darling Harbour.

Key Facts: Front-runner countries, led by Canada, China and the United Arab Emirates laid down their ambitious policy markers in 2017. Australia decided to get serious in 2025 but still has not matched even Canada’s 2017 commitments in dollar value, scope of change or level of imagination.
