His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands inaugurated the new Royal Boon Edam International B.V. building in Edam. Celebrating its 150th anniversary, the family-owned company is a global leader in security entrances and architectural revolving doors, with extensive operations Down Under through its Boon Edam Australia subsidiary.

Boon Edam has recently invested in the newly renovated headquarters in Edam as a testament to its future endeavours and moving forward towards adapting to evolving work environments. The building reinforces the company's commitment to the next 150 years, symbolising innovation and sustainability.

Majestic Milestone for a Royal Company

The official opening event was a full day filled with excitement as Boon Edam's employees, VIP guests, and attendees participated in many activities, including cake-cutting ceremonies, fun team-building sessions, traditional Dutch games and pop-up food trucks.

King Willem-Alexander was present for the inaugural ceremony and toured the premises with Niels Huber, company chairman and third-generation owner. The tour covered various aspects of Boon Edam's production process, including assembly, cutting, rolling, servicing, installation, innovations, and sustainability. The King talked to employees at each point, learning firsthand about the innovative technologies and sustainable practices incorporated within the premises.

King's Presence Ignites Pride and Joy at Boon Edam's Celebration

Following the tour, King Willem-Alexander joined all of the employees and selected guests at the Experience Centre, where he engaged with attendees for a while before leaving the event.

"Hosting the royal visit to open our new headquarters is a true testament to the distinction of being a 'Royal' company. This honour continues to signify the respect and trust given to us by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands back in 2003. We take great pride in our strong community ties and firm dedication to our employees' welfare. This event reiterates our commitment to upholding these values, fostering a legacy built on trust and appreciation.” Said Niels Huber, Owner and Chairman.

The King's presence elevated the spirits of everyone present on the day, and there was a tangible feeling of pride and honour. Boon Edam, known for its 150 years of excellence, showcased its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and continued success.

The day concluded with camaraderie and achievement, closing off a remarkable milestone in Boon Edam's impressive history.
