Jemena 2 mins read

Leading energy infrastructure company, Jemena, has today announced the appointment of Kate Webster as new Group CFO following a competitive recruitment process.

Commenting on the appointment Jemena’s Managing Director, David Gillespie, said that Kate brings a wealth of energy and utility sector experience to the role.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kate to the Jemena team and are confident she is a natural fit for our Group and will make a strong contribution to the business,” said Mr Gillespie.

“Kate has an impressive understanding of not only the energy sector, but the challenges it faces – particularly in a financial context – as we work towards delivering on our net-zero ambitions.”

Mr Gillespie said Kate has worked in the energy sector in a range of in-house and consulting roles since 2001.

“Throughout her career Kate has held several roles including most recently as CFO and co-CFO for a number of Australian-based energy infrastructure businesses. In these roles she has overseen several successful capital raising programs. Kate’s experience also includes international positions in the energy sector, notably in the United Kingdom.”

Mr Gillespie said Kate also has a deep understanding of ESG frameworks in a financial context.

Kate will assume CFO responsibilities for Jemena and Zinfra (who share the same parent company) in early 2024.
