In what can only be deemed a musical coup, Club Corowa and their event partners have secured ARIA award winners Birds of Tokyo as the headline act for the first of their 2024 Concert Series.
The popular group, who hails from Perth, will entertain the 600 strong crowd as Club Corowa, in conjunction with local mental health initiative, The Fight is Real, contribute a portion of ticket sales towards supporting the Black Dog initiative. Known for their work in the mental health space, the Black Dog Initiative seeks to provide research and clinical expertise regarding mental health, including depression and suicide prevention, as well as education programs, a voice of advocacy to ensure research outcomes translate into sufficient policies and collaborate with organisations who share their
vision.
Corowa CEO, Peter Norris, explained, “Local Daniel Hateley, the young man behind the mental health initiative The Fight is Real, impressed upon us his reasons to make this concert a way to support mental health, by contributing ten dollars from each ticket sale to Black Dog Institute. Daniel and his team do a huge amount of work within the community to raise awareness and money for a cause which is obviously close to all of their hearts. He and his fellow ambassadors are a standout in the community so it is a privilege to support The Fight is Real by contributing to the Black Dog Institute.”
Local stars, Empress + Aces, will open the show for Birds of Tokyo, yet another local band provided the opportunity to shine alongside Australian music celebrity.
The show, on March 8th, is already a sell-out, indicative of the popularity of the performers and the overall success of the Concert Series.
