Dig IT's nine mini-excavators have been renamed after Sant's famous nine reindeers for Christmas in July

Dashing Through July: Dig IT Delights with Reindeer Renaming!

If you hear go Dasher, go Dancer, go Prancer, go Vixen…. and Comet, and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen while on Tamborine Mountain this JULY, relax, it’s not Santa arriving six months early, it’s the kids at Dig IT having the BEST DAY EVER because the nine mini-excavators have been renamed for Christmas in July!!

And don’t worry Rudolph is there too - his was an original name of one of the mini-excavators, and he’s thrilled to welcome his eight fellow-flyers to Dig IT!!

Each mini-excavator will sport festive decorations, including antlers and red noses, with Dig It owner Kate Keegan encouraging families to be as festive as possible!

The renaming is part of Tamborine Mountain’s Christmas in July celebrations that see cafes and restaurants, accommodation providers and activity hosts channel Santa and holiday cheer!

Dig IT, Australia’s first ever mini-excavator park at Tamborine Mountain, is just an hour from the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

After opening like a wrecking ball just 12 months ago, Dig IT has welcomed thousands of kids (and grownups) to sit in the driver’s seat to operate their own mini-excavator, just like a real construction worker, in an outdoor construction zone on a mountain famous for rocks, and at a place that’s legendary for families, Thunderbird Park! The mile-wide smiles on kids and grown-ups are proof that digging in the dirt never gets old.

Dig IT is custom-designed for both children and their parents who love to play (who doesn’t?), featuring supercool activities that are fun, educational and engaging. Kids get hands-on experience learning about the construction industry, earthworks, engineering, building, the importance of safety, and teamwork. And there’s not an iPad or Screen anywhere!

The superstars of Dig IT are the nine, CAT 1.7 tonne mini-excavators built right here in Queensland. They are the real deal, with hard hats and high vis gear required onsite. The experience sees kids sit the driver’s seat alone or on the lap of their parent or carer, to try a range of skills, from digging up the dirt, to using a claw to stack and move tyres, or using a hook to catch pesky ‘crocs!

And there’s more – parents, guardians and carers:  book a session for two or more kids on either Monday or Tuesday, and each child will receive a free Dig IT Croc Jibbitz pack! These packs include 6 excavator-themed Jibbitz, perfect for customizing their Crocs and taking a piece of Dig IT fun home with them. Valid till Mon 02 Sep 2024.
