CIMIC Group 2 mins read

CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia has been selected to fit out a data centre in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The project is for an existing client – a multinational technology corporation – and is located within a data centre campus Leighton Asia successfully delivered in 2023.

Work involves fitting-out the data centre with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection services and security to support an additional 10MW IT load.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: “Data centres have a key role in connecting people and information worldwide and enable a wide range of complex services. We are pleased to again work with one of our Group’s key customers to deliver this critical infrastructure in Indonesia, supporting the region’s digital connectivity.”

Leighton Asia Managing Director Brad Davey said: “With our local knowledge and international experience, Leighton Asia is experienced in meeting the stringent security requirements and compliance standards required for data centres. We are excited to have this recognised with a further contract from our client and pleased to continue our work at this campus.”

In 2023, Leighton Asia delivered site infrastructure for the campus, a data centre building with two data halls and associated buildings for storage, security and other operational facilities, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services, façade and external works.

The current project is scheduled to commence immediately and complete in 2025.
This project adds to several data centres Leighton Asia has completed or is delivering across the region in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau and the Philippines.
