CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been selected by Sydney Water to deliver the Orchard Hills Water Filtration Plant (WFP) Reliability Upgrade (Pre-treatment) project.
The initiative will enhance the reliability and resilience of the drinking water supply for approximately 260,000 customers and support future development in the Blue Mountains and Penrith regions. CPB Contractors will work collaboratively with technology and design partners Veolia, BG&E, CWT, Atlas, CNFiTech and CIMIC Group company EIC Activities to design and construct a new pre-treatment facility at Orchard Hills WFP.
The project will deliver approximately $150 million in revenue for CPB Contractors.

The Orchard Hills WFP Reliability Upgrade (Pre-treatment) project includes:
- Construction of a new pre-treatment plant to provide additional treatment of raw water before filtration
- Upgrade of existing chemical storage and handling facilities
- Removal of disused buildings and concrete structures
- Site works, including pipework, roadway and power supply upgrade.
Construction will commence in Q3 2026.
