AWU Victoria welcomes Clare O’Neil’s Membership

Australian Workers Union Victoria < 1 min read

The Australian Workers Union Victoria is delighted to announce that Clare O’Neil, the Federal Minister for Housing and Homelessness, has officially joined the AWU. Clare has long been a committed ally of our union, and we are proud to welcome her as a member.

Her dedication to improving the lives of working Australians aligns with the core values of our union, and her membership reflects her ongoing support for the labour movement.

Under the leadership of Labor governments, supported by individuals like Clare, AWU members enjoy better rights, greater opportunities, and the promise of increased prosperity.

AWU National Secretary Paul Farrow said: “Clare O’Neil is not only an outstanding Minister but an outstanding person. It’s fitting that she joins the long list of fine Australian political leaders who have proudly held AWU membership.”

Minister for Housing and Homelessness Clare O’Neil commented: “This is a hugely proud moment for me in my political journey. By becoming a member of one of the oldest, strongest, and most respected unions in Australia, I will be able to more directly represent and advocate for the needs and rights of workers across the country.”

AWU Victoria Branch Secretary Ronnie Hayden added: “Clare has achieved so much as a Federal Cabinet Minister, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her, and her team find a home at the AWU. With her passion for looking after working-class people and her incredibly strong work ethic, she will fit right in at the AWU.”

The AWU look forward to continuing our work with Clare to deliver a better future for all workers.
