Solar and battery incentives will reduce power bills and harmful emissions

Rewiring Australia strongly backs the NSW Government’s new incentives to make household batteries more accessible for residents across the state.

From Friday, NSW residents can access a discount when installing a battery in their home or small business with an existing solar system, or have the discount included in a quote for a combined solar system and battery installation.

“Encouraging battery installation is a smart way to reduce energy bills and bring down emissions,” said Rewiring Australia Executive Director Dan Cass.

“The greatest source of household emissions is energy use and households make up a large portion of national emissions.

“These incentives will allow more households and businesses to reap the benefits of cheap solar power while benefiting the environment and strengthening the reliability of the grid.”
