[SYDNEY, 06 November] - UN Women Australia is excited to announce that internationally acclaimed comedian, actor, and author Celeste Barber will be live in conversation at UN Women Australia’s International Women's Day (IWD) events on 7 March 2025, with tickets on sale today.
Taking centre stage in Sydney, Barber will be streamed to audiences across Australia and online in celebration of International Women’s Month in 2025, marking the 30th anniversary of the UN Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action for gender equality, which is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees.
Renowned for her viral #CelesteChallengeAccepted campaign, Barber will bring her signature wit and incisive social commentary to the stage.
Barber said, "History shows change only comes when you kick up a stink. I'm pumped to join UN Women Australia in this crucial conversation as I’m well versed in ruffling some feathers and striving for equality and change.”

UN Women Australia’s IWD events, are among the largest in Australia and provide an important opportunity to raise much needed funds to support and empower women and girls globally. The national IWD speaker line-up, features a diverse range of thought leaders, change makers and activists soon to be announced, joining the ranks of previous event speakers including Dr Jane Goodall, Grace Tame, and Mellody Hobson, among others.
