Chiou See Anderson Announced as Headliner at UN Women Australia's  
International Women’s Day event live on stage in Brisbane on 8 March. 

 

[Brisbane,06 February 2024] - UN Women Australia welcomes Chiou See Anderson, President of the National Council of Women Australia, to their International Women’s Day speaker line-up, live from Brisbane.   

 

An inaugural member of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Women’s Economic Equality Taskforce, and Founder and Operator of Element Retirement Villages, Chiou See will share valuable insights on business leadership and female-led entrepreneurship, advancing women’s economic inclusion and empowerment, and shaping gender policies and care economies. 

 

Advancing gender equality both in Australia and globally, Ms Anderson is a board member of the International Council of Women and Head of Delegation for W20, an official G20 engagement group established to ensure gender considerations are included in the G20 Leaders Declaration. 

 

Chiou See’s expertise and commitment to women’s economic empowerment aligns perfectly with the theme, Count Her In. We’re honoured to have her join us,said Simone Clarke, CEO, UN Women Australia. 

 

The theme for International Women’s Day 2024is‘Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress’, based on the priority theme for the United Nations 68th Commission on the Status of Women, exploring the pathways to greater economic inclusion for women and girls everywhere. 

 

Chiou See Anderson joins an inspiring speaker line-up for UN Women Australia’s International Women’s Day events in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth. The events will also feature an exclusive virtual presentation from Michele Bullock, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, engaging in a rare conversation about her passion for inclusion, diversity and belonging, and her perspectives on diverse and equal leadership.
