Marmota Limited (ASX:MEU) Commences Drilling at Muckanippie Titanium Discovery

Jane Morgan Management 2 mins read

Marmota Limited (ASX:MEU) is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced at its new Heavy Minerals (HM) titanium discovery at Muckanippie in South Australia. This campaign start follows the recent announcement of bonanza-grade heavy mineral assays across every discovery hole at the site earlier this month.

Drilling Program Overview

  • Program Details: 89 planned air core drill holes targeting shallow titanium-bearing mineral sands from surface to an average depth of ~30m.

  • Progress: Drilling began on 23 January 2025, with the first 10 holes, totaling 359m, now completed. The entire program is expected to conclude within nine days.

  • Strategic Importance: This program focuses on expanding the discovery by targeting the interpreted titanium-hosting palaeochannel, which spans approximately 28km across Marmota’s tenements.

Highlights

  • Exceptional Assay Results:

    • WI-081: 28m @ 19.2% HM from surface, including 4m @ 22.2% HM.

    • WI-080: 36m @ 13.5% HM from surface, including 4m @ 27.8% HM.

    • WI-079: 39m @ 13.2% HM from surface, including 4m @ 26.0% HM.

    • WI-078: 24m @ 13.5% HM from surface, including 4m @ 21.3% HM.

Dr. Colin Rose, Marmota’s Executive Chairman, stated: Marmota announced just 10 days ago HM assays featuring bonanza grades in every discovery hole. Those assays confirm Marmota’s discovery at Muckanippie as a highly significant new Heavy Mineral sands discovery. Marmota is progressing with full speed a major follow-up drill program to rapidly advance, grow and develop this outstanding titanium Heavy Mineral discovery.
