Dementia Australia is encouraging people living with dementia, their families and carers to begin discussions now about voting in the federal election on 3 May to ensure they have the support they need to participate. “Voting is a fundamental part of our democracy, and it is essential that people living with dementia are supported to make an informed decision,” Professor Buchanan said. Perth community members turned up in force last weekend, showing their support for people impacted by dementia whilst getting active to improve their brain health. SURFACE WATER SAMPLING AT MEDOWIE SHOW PFAS LEVELS BELOW RECREATIONAL GUIDELINES
The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has undertaken water sampling at Medowie in Port Stephens and confirmed PFAS levels were below relevant Australian water quality guidelines. In response to community concerns raised by residents near the Pacific Dunes Golf Course at Medowie, the EPA tested three dams used for irrigation of the golf course. It is understood these dams intersect with groundwater.
