National Legal Aid calls for urgent funding review amid lawyer shortage

National Legal Aid (NLA), representing Legal Aids across Australia, is urging Attorneys-General to review legal aid fees paid to private lawyers in response to a lawyer shortage. The Standing Council of Attorneys General (SCAG) meets in Brisbane this week NLA is calling on the Attorneys-General to support a review of fees to private lawyers, who undertake around 70 per cent of legal aid work. Dementia Australia is proud to support the Bondi2Berry Ride to Remember, which marks its 10-year anniversary this Saturday, 15 November 2025.
