Anzac Day 2024 Commemorations Overseas

CALL FOR MEDIA REGISTRATIONS

 

Media organisations or representatives wishing to attend Anzac Day commemorations in France or Türkiye can now apply for media accreditation.

To apply for media accreditation please email commemorations.media@dva.gov.au with the following in your subject line: “Media accreditation request (France OR Türkiye) 2024” and the name of your organisation. You will be required to provide your personal details, name of your media organisation and a passport style photo for your accreditation pass.

Applications can be lodged up until 11.59pm AEST Friday 19 April 2024. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Numbers of media representatives will be limited due to constraints at the commemorative/memorial sites in both France and Türkiye.

A completed registration will be considered your formal intention to attend and cover the commemorative services. Successful applicants will be advised as soon as possible after the close of registrations. Media passes will be issued by DVA in France and Türkiye prior to the events. Further details on the issuing of passes will be provided closer to Anzac Day.

Host broadcast feed

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) will provide a host/international feed of the commemorations free of charge to registered media on request. Feed access information will be made available by DVA ahead of the event date.

Stills imagery

Stills imagery will be available for download following the conclusion of the services. These will be at https://images.defence.gov.au

Media briefing and media opportunities

A media briefing will be held in each location in the days prior to the commemorative events. At these briefings you will be provided with media accreditation passes, and information on the service and on-site arrangements.

Media opportunities

Media opportunities and interviews may be available after the media briefing. Further information will be provided to registered media closer to the event.

Please note that there may be potential press events in the lead up to formal commemorations, which could provide further opportunities for media engagement in the lead up to Anzac Day.

‘Battle for Australia’ Commemoration – Shrine of Remembrance

Four Victorian school students have been selected to take on the roles of four Australian Service personnel, who served with the Royal Australian Navy during ‘War in the Pacific’.
