Sydney Ahmadi Muslim women invite all women to their Annual Peace Symposium

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Australia Women’s Auxiliary in Sydney is hosting its Annual Peace Symposium on Sunday, 28th April 2024. In light of the current situation around the world, this symposium highlights the topic “Human Rights According to My Faith” 

 

Representatives from various faiths and communities, including Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, and the Aboriginal Community will gather at the Baitul Huda Mosque in Marsden Park, NSW, to discuss the safeguarding of human rights from a faith-based point of view, and how these can be encompassed in today’s climate. 

 

Talking about this significant event, the National President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Abida Chaudhary said:

 

“In times of uncertainty and unrest, fostering dialogue around human rights becomes crucial. It's through open discussion, empathy, and a shared commitment to justice that we can work towards addressing these issues and building a more equitable society. Let's unite in our efforts to advocate for human rights and create positive change."

 

The event will be followed by a complimentary dinner. Please note that this is a women’s only event.

AFL players’ hip issues begin early in their career

AFL draftees have shown changes to their hip joints early in their playing careers, in a new research finding that could reveal why elite athletes have higher levels of hip osteoarthritis. Researchers from La Trobe University studied 58 pain-free male AFL draftees, finding that that nearly half showed hip joint changes on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and 20 per cent had a particular hip bone shape called cam morphology.
