Soda Communications 3 mins read

Shiperoo is thrilled to announce the addition of two of Australia’s most successful online entrepreneurs, Gabby and Hezi Leibovich, to its board.

With their extensive experience in e-commerce and a shared passion for sustainability, Gabby and Hezi join Shiperoo founders Nishan Wijemanne and Rizan Mawzoon to work towards their mission to revolutionise the reCommerce landscape.

Shiperoo Co-Founder Nishan Wijemanne said Gabby and Hezi bring a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking mindset that perfectly aligns Shiperoo’s mission to address the growing challenges of returns, end-of-season stock, and excess inventory, all while preventing waste from ending up in landfills.

“Their track record of building successful online businesses and their commitment to tackling the pressing issues of excess stock and waste in the e-commerce industry make them invaluable additions to our board,” Nishan said.

“Combining their knowledge and skillsets with ours creates an enviable combination to tackle this growing industry problem head-on.”

Gabby and Hezi have built remarkable reputations as pioneers in the Australian online retail sector. Since emigrating to Australia in 1986, they have co-founded and led multiple successful online businesses, including Catch of the Day, Scoopon and Eatnow (now Menulog), transforming the way Australians shop online.

Their entrepreneurial journey, marked by resilience and innovation, aligns perfectly with Shiperoo’s vision of leveraging technology to create impactful solutions in the reCommerce and returns market.

Driving Shiperoo’s Ambitious Vision

Gabby and Hezi will build on Shiperoo’s innovative returns strategies by designing and introducing the all-new reCommerce arm, ultimately contributing to environmental sustainability whilst creating new revenue opportunities for retailers. This reCommerce initiative will spread across a wide range of retail categories including fashion apparel, footwear, consumables, beauty, homeware, electronics and more. Consumers will soon enjoy massive savings and access to a vast range of retail products through this exciting reCommerce initiative.

“We have known Nish and Riz for a while now, so we know what we’re in for, that our values align and how we can complement their existing skillset,” Gabby said.

“We are excited to join them and work towards a future where the retail returns and reCommerce space can thrive without contributing to waste.

“Hezi and I believe that by leveraging technology, innovation, and new processes, we can create a more sustainable and efficient approach to managing returns and excess stock.

“The reCommerce space is filled with untapped potential. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we can reduce waste and drive profitability for retailers. We look forward to tackling these challenges head-on with the two of them.”

The Industry Perspective

Shiperoo’s innovative approach to retail returns and reCommerce has caught the attention of industry leaders. Founder of the National Online Retailers Association and Shiperoo’s Non-executive Chairman Paul Greenberg is excited about the potential of the partnership, adding:

"Shiperoo’s vision to address the returns challenge with a sustainable, tech-forward approach is exactly what the retail industry needs. Gabby and Hezi joining forces with Nishan and Rizan creates a powerhouse that can truly reshape the future of retail returns. Together, they’re set to lead the charge in reducing waste and optimising efficiency."
