One year to go: Melbourne gears up for the ‘Business Olympics’

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2 mins read

The countdown is on! The 14th World Chambers Congress – to be hosted in Melbourne in 2025 for the first time – is officially one year away.

The International Chamber of Commerce and Industry World Chambers Federation (ICC WCF) announced in December 2022 the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) as the successful bidder to host the 14WCC following a competitive bidding process which was supported by the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB).

The theme, ‘Business, chambers, government: Partners for prosperity’ highlights the tripartite approach to propel our economies forward – bringing together representatives from these three powerful groups from more than 100 countries.

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce is proudly bringing global business and political leaders together to tackle issues like energy, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, cyber security, artificial intelligence, trade and export and geopolitical relations.

It’s an opportunity to rub shoulders with global power brokers and unlock unprecedented opportunities in what has been dubbed the ‘Business Olympics’.

The event will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2 to 4 September 2025.

The Victorian Chamber will soon release sponsorship and exhibitor packages, so businesses can leverage this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their business to the world.

“The 14WCC will be the most significant business event in the world in 2025: we can’t wait to host hundreds of global leaders and decision makers and show them everything that Victoria’s, and Australia’s, business community has to offer.

“We will be exploring the most significant issues and opportunities facing economies today, with a laser sharp focus on the future and how business, chambers and governments can work together to secure a prosperous economy to empower our populations.”

To be attributed to Melbourne Convention Bureau Chief Executive Julia Swanson:

"As we mark one year to go until the World Chambers Congress 2025, Melbourne stands ready to welcome global business leaders and innovators to our vibrant city. This event will not only showcase our strong business community but also foster invaluable connections and collaborations that will shape the future of commerce on a global scale.

“We look forward to hosting delegates from around the world next year and demonstrating why Melbourne is the ideal destination for such a prestigious gathering."
