Why It Matters

By accelerating the integration of commercial technologies, Pacific Defense ensures that U.S. and allied forces maintain the technological edge to meet modern challenges while advancing the broader SOSA/CMOSS ecosystem to drive innovation. The SX-620 enables advanced, resilient communication networks by delivering critical data and voice connectivity in contested environments.

Designed for Resilient Communications at the Tactical Edge

At the core of the SX-620 is the Silvus SC4400E, a 4x4 MIMO MANET radio designed to deliver high-performance tactical communications in the most demanding situations. Powered by its battle-proven MN-MIMO waveform, the SC4400E offers up to 100 Mbps data throughput, and supports a wide frequency range from 300 MHz to 6 GHz.

With a ruggedized design and 20W native (80W effective) output power, the SC4400E stands up to harsh conditions and has the power to maintain stable links across complex and difficult terrain. This makes it an ideal solution for military and mission-critical applications. In addition to high data throughput, Silvus’ proprietary MN-MIMO waveform also delivers unmatched scalability (capable of linking 550+ nodes), range, and EW resilience, ensuring seamless, reliable, high-fidelity transmission of voice, data, video, and Position Location Information (PLI) in the most contested and congested environments.

“The SX-620 brings a new level of communications resilience and scalability to mission-critical systems," said Pedja Mitrovic, Director of Product Management at Pacific Defense. "The product passed over-the-air acceptance testing by the U.S. Army earlier this year, proving how new communications capabilities can be rapidly and cost-effectively integrated into existing systems and future programs aligned with SOSA/CMOSS standards. Additionally, it represents our effort to lead and grow the SOSA/CMOSS ecosystem, accelerating innovation across the defense industry."

Unlocking the Full Potential of Modular Systems

The SX-620 is part of Pacific Defense’s broader portfolio of plug-in cards, aligned to the SOSA Technical Standard, which can be used to build CMOSS systems tailored to a variety of defense and critical commercial applications. By contributing to and advancing open architecture standards, Pacific Defense empowers innovation and delivers flexible solutions for the U.S. military, allies, and industry partners alike. The company’s use of open standards enables faster and more cost-effective solutions than traditional systems.

Key Features of the SX-620:

  • Powered by Silvus StreamCaster 4400 Enhanced MANET radio, featuring 4x4 MIMO technology
  • Support for frequencies from 300 MHz to 6 GHz
  • Adaptive high data rates of up to 100 Mbps
  • Fully interoperable with Silvus AN/PRC-169(v)1 and AN/PRC-169(v)2 radios for maximum compatibility
