More than a thousand people from the Deaf and hard of hearing community around Victoria will come together today to their culture at the Deaf Festival in Sunshine West today.
The annual event has been running since 1932-and will host some old fashioned fun including a YoYo competition.
The festival is hosted by Expression Australia, Australia's oldest Deaf Society that is celebrating 140 years of service to the community .

Things to see and experience:
- Deaf Dog Adoption
- Haptic vests with Deaf person David Grant sharing their new songs (the music of a Deaf artist in this is a first). Haptic vests allow Deaf people to feel the music sensations all over their body , not just a vibration through the floor.
- Family activities -laser tag and inflatable axe throwing
- Many small businesses will be showcasing their wares including the Bee Barron – Honey producer from Kerang Vic
