YUZU just have to be on the first Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail for 2025 - Sunday March 30

Overflowing larders right on the farm, freshly picked produce from a paddock you can see, jams, chutneys and relishes made with love, olives and cheese, honey and garlic, carrots for days, farm walks, wine tastings, and alpaca cuddles, these are just some of the highlights of the Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail, with the first for 2025 on Sunday March 30. It’s the much loved and highly anticipated day when the farmers, growers, producers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and flavour-makers across the famous region open their gates to celebrate where food comes from. From kissing a camel, to tasting Rozella Jams and more at Vanberry Jam Co and Cottage, to fresh produce straight from the paddocks of local farms, picnic selfies with alpacas, stocking up on artisan dairy products and learning more about farming,  beer tasting at the new Boxer Brewing on Tamborine Mountain, flower walks at Elderflower Farm, wandering the vines at the region’s award-winning vineyards, visitors leave with full stomachs and a love for the Scenic Rim region, its produce and its people.

TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN DISTILLERY, which is the most awarded distillery in the COUNTRY, is launching TWO NEW SIPS for the Trail – their own Yuzu Gin and Yuzu Vodka!

Head Distiller, Gordon Chalmers, first discovered YUZU while working in Japan a decade ago. Captivated by its vibrant, complex flavour and aromatic depth, he was inspired to create Yuzucello three years ago.. The overwhelming response, led him to develop both Yuzu Gin and Yuzu Vodka, each capturing the bright, zesty essence of this extraordinary fruit. In line with their sustainability commitment, the team has planted 58 citrus trees, including 25 yuzu trees, on the property to ensure a reliable, sustainable supply of yuzu for the distilling process.

Head Distiller, Gordon Chalmers, first discovered YUZU while working in Japan a decade ago. Captivated by its vibrant, complex flavour and aromatic depth, he was inspired to create Yuzucello three years ago, which quickly became a favourite among customers. In line with their sustainability commitment, they’ve planted 58 citrus trees, including 25 yuzu trees, on the property to ensure a reliable, sustainable supply of yuzu for the distilling process.

  • Yuzu Gin: Bursting with the bright, zesty flavours of fresh yuzu, this gin delivers a refreshing citrus-forward profile with subtle floral notes. Infused with a blend of carefully selected botanicals, it has a crisp, clean texture with a delicate juniper backbone and a touch of spice. The finish is long and invigorating, with a hint of herbal complexity. Enjoy with tonic for a classic G&T or in a Yuzu Gin Fizz for a vibrant twist.
  • Yuzu Vodka: This Yuzu Vodka is a fusion of smooth, velvety texture and the refreshing, tangy essence of yuzu. The crisp citrus notes are balanced with a subtle sweetness, creating a clean, bright spirit with a refined finish. Its purity allows the bold yuzu to shine, with hints of zest and a faint floral touch for added complexity. Perfect for a Yuzu Lemonade, vodka soda, or enjoyed neat for an elegant citrus experience.
