HOYTS to bring movie magic to Western Australia’s Eaton Fair
HOYTS Cinemas, Australia’s number one cinema chain, is bringing movie magic to Eaton Fair shopping centre in Western Australia. Eaton Fair’s property developer Citygate expects the brand new seven-screen cinema complex to open next year, with the venue set to become a focal point for entertainment in the precinct.
HOYTS Eaton Fair will include a dedicated D-BOX cinema featuring seats with haptic technology that move in sync with the on-screen action, Xtremescreen cinemas, and a mix of HOYTS signature recliner and lean-back seating along with daybeds throughout. It will also feature a Treat City and Artie’s Bar where patrons can indulge in their favourite movie snacks and drinks. The new cinema will deliver a state-of-the-art entertainment experience for the greater Bunbury community. The HOYTS Group CEO and President Damian Keogh said the new complex will enhance the centre’s entertainment offerings by providing a cutting-edge cinema for the local community. “Recognising the rapid growth and development of Bunbury and its surrounding areas, we are delighted to introduce a premier cinema experience to WA’s southwest. With the continued expansion of the region’s largest shopping centre, Eaton Fair is the perfect location for HOYTS to deliver cinema entertainment,” Damian said. “We are excited to create a destination where the community can enjoy more than just a movie. We are proud to deliver innovative technology and exceptional comfort for our customers and this new cinema at Eaton Fair will deliver exactly that and more.” HOYTS Eaton Fair adds to the company’s growing portfolio of investments in the Western Australian market. In December 2025, HOYTS introduced IMAX with Laser at its Carousel cinema, and recently announced a joint venture and refurbishment plans for ACE HOYTS Rockingham. Citygate General Manager Michael Prosser said that cinemas play an important part in the community, and that HOYTS Eaton Fair will be a significant addition to the shopping centre. “Eaton Fair Shopping Centre is growing to include over 100 fantastic retailers, centred around a vibrant entertainment precinct featuring restaurants, a modern playground and a new premium cinema complex,” Michael said. “We are thrilled to be welcoming HOYTS to the centre and have them anchoring the entertainment precinct.”
“Construction on the expansion commenced last year, with the cinema set to open as the final stage of the development in 2027.”
The new development reinforces HOYTS’ position as Australia’s number one cinema chain and its ongoing commitment to delivering world-class entertainment to communities across the country. With a proven track record of transforming cinemas into vibrant entertainment destinations, HOYTS continues to invest in cinemas by introducing cutting-edge technology that redefines the big screen experience. For Eaton Fair, this means creating a destination that brings moviegoers back to the cinema and sets a new benchmark for entertainment in the region.
