Power your Optimus Crew– Greenworks Commercial OPTIMUS(TM) Ecosystem Arrives at Equip Expo 2026

An Integrated Ecosystem of Mowing Equipment, Handheld Tools and Charging Solutions, Paired with Connected Fleet Management

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Greenworks Commercial showcased the OPTIMUS commercial ecosystem at Equip Exposition 2026 (formerly GIE+EXPO), held October 20–23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. The ecosystem brings together mowers, handheld tools and the charging equipment that keeps them running.

For landscape contractors and the grounds teams that maintain campuses, corporate grounds and public spaces, the show framed a central question for electrification: not whether a single battery-powered tool can replace a gas unit, but whether an entire crew can run electric from the first job of the day to the last.

The showcase also featured the debut of the all-new OPTIMUS UTV, extending the high-voltage OPTIMUS platform into utility vehicles. The addition broadened the ecosystem beyond grounds maintenance equipment, giving professionals another way to put battery power to work across their operations.

From Standalone Products to a Unified Platform

OPTIMUS is far more than a single machine or a simple battery adapter. It is a complete commercial portfolio covering ride-on and walk-behind mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, blowers and the charging equipment that keeps them in the field. Interchangeable battery packs across compatible handheld tools and walk-behind mowers allow crews to move packs between tools and between tasks. Integrated charging solutions support both zero-turn mowers and handheld batteries, helping crews coordinate charging as their fleets expand. For teams running several brands on several incompatible battery systems, that coordination offers a practical operational benefit.

Contractors are no longer asking whether battery equipment works. They are asking whether it holds up when a full crew runs a full schedule, across every project they take on. OPTIMUS was developed around that requirement: one platform in place of a collection of tools, so businesses can build long-term fleet and investment plans around the ecosystem.

What Changes on the Job Site

Battery-powered equipment produces no tailpipe emissions during operation, and it removes refueling, fuel storage and engine servicing from the workday. Lower vibration and noise can help reduce operator fatigue over long shifts, and quieter operation can offer greater flexibility when working around classrooms, offices and other occupied buildings, subject to local operating restrictions. Crews gain flexibility in when and where they work, with equipment designed to deliver the cut quality and productivity commercial operations require. Fewer fuel runs, reduced routine maintenance requirements and coordinated charging can help lower total cost of ownership over time.

Fleet Visibility: More Than Basic Equipment Monitoring

On models equipped with 4G and GPS connectivity, managers can access equipment location, battery state of charge, operating information and maintenance data through Greenworks Commercial’ s connected management tools. Managers can monitor equipment status, identify service needs and use available battery information to help reallocate equipment and plan charging. For a commercial service business, a single unplanned downtime event can throw off a crew’ s entire day. That visibility carries real operational value rather than being a cosmetic feature.

Behind the Platform: In-House R&D and Vertically Integrated Manufacturing

The OPTIMUS ecosystem leverages Greenworks’ R&D and manufacturing capabilities, honed since 2007 in battery-powered outdoor power equipment. Globe has led or participated in developing seven industry standards and has in-house design and manufacturing capabilities for more than 80% of its core components, including battery packs, brushless motors, smart controllers and chargers.

Vertical integration brings power delivery, energy management and parts supply within an integrated development and manufacturing system, helping support reliable deployment and long-term service across the ecosystem. For dealers, presenting one complete ecosystem can simplify inventory management while opening cross-selling opportunities across mowing equipment, handheld tools and charging solutions.

At the show in Louisville, one benchmark held constant in Greenworks Commercial’ s conversations with contractors and dealers: an electrification program earns its place when it delivers reliable performance throughout a full commercial season. Greenworks Commercial will continue to expand the OPTIMUS line, its companion charging solutions and the dealer service network that supports the ecosystem.

Greenworks Commercial —committed to provide the most innovative, intuitive, and efficient power on the market.
