Proposed changes to Victoria’s energy rules to better protect consumers and minimise unnecessary costs
The Essential Services Commission is seeking feedback on proposed changes to Victoria’s energy rules. These changes are intended to remove unnecessary requirements and better protect consumers by clarifying existing rules. The changes would also align Victoria’s rules more closely with national rules. TESTING FINDS NAMBUCCA RIVER IN GOOD HEALTH
A 2026 water quality snapshot assessment of the Nambucca River system has returned positive results, with low levels of contaminants detected across the catchment. The assessment involved testing and analysing for contaminants in the Nambucca River and its tributaries in early 2026 and was led by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) in partnership with the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and Nambucca Shire Council.
