Aid peak warns of humanitarian catastrophe over Rafah assault

Media release | Wednesday, 8 May 2024 The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) warns a full-scale military assault on the Gazan city of Rafah would have catastrophic humanitarian consequences. The peak body for humanitarian agencies said 1.3 million people, 600,000 of them children, were trapped in Rafah after Israeli attacks forced them from their homes. When menopause and eating disorders collide, help is now available

A new online resource developed by Monash University researchers will help women navigate eating disorders during perimenopause and menopause, when symptoms can become both distressing and hard to tell apart. Tradie skills spend will boost construction: CFMEU

The CFMEU has strongly endorsed the Albanese Government’s federal budget boost for apprenticeships and traineeships in the construction industry. As part of the package announced on Wednesday, the government will fund an additional 15,000 fee-free construction TAFE and VET places over two years from 2025. There is also new funding for industry training providers, including sector-leading programs run by building industry unions.
