6 December 2024

[Moree, NSW] - Australian country music star and Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) ambassador Andy Penkow is set to light up northern NSW this New Year’s Eve when he brings his live show to the Moree Services Club.

Known for his soulful voice, heartfelt lyrics and electric live performances, Andy is set to make this New Years Eve in Moree one to remember. The concert will feature all of Andy’s hits, including the new version of “Heavy on Me,” re-written in a special collaboration with the Australian Koala Foundation for Save the Koala Day 2024.

Andy is a rising star in the Australian country music scene, and his blend of both traditional and modern country sounds mixed with impeccable storytelling have earned him critical acclaim. Just recently, it was announced that his latest album release, “Shades On Me” has been nominated for three Golden Guitars – Contemporary Album of the Year, Toyota Album of the Year and Bush Ballad of the Year for the song, “The Lone Drover”. The awards ceremony will be held on the 25th January 2025, during the esteemed Tamworth Country Music Festival.

“Moree is such an important area for the Australian Koala Foundation, as are the towns surrounding it,” says AKF Chair Deborah Tabart OAM. “Moree Secondary College recently held a fundraiser for Save the Koala Month, and generously donated the proceeds to the AKF. That donation went directly towards our first Koala KISS Project in the Gwydir Shire. Our Save the Koala gift shop is also permanently set up in Warialda, and is a popular destination for locals and visitors who actively support us when they shop there.”

Entry for the show is free, and all attendees will receive a special one-time discount code for the Australian Koala Foundation’s online shop, in collaboration with Andy.

“We’re thrilled that our long-time Koala ambassador and friend Andy Penkow is taking his concert to Moree for New Years Eve. The AKF was lucky enough to host Andy and his band at our HQ office in September for Save the Koala Month, so we all got a front row seat to his spectacular live set!”
