Salvos Stores need your support to make a difference this spring
By donating your preloved clothes you will help those in need and earn a discount
Salvos Stores across Tasmania are urging the public to dig deep into their wardrobes and linen closets for clothing items to donate to ensure a steady supply of essentials this spring.
This September, anyone who donates to one of our Tasmanian stores until September 30th will receive a 20% discount voucher which can be redeemed in-store or online, allowing access to greater savings on value-packed products across our stores.
This comes as a result of Salvos Stores in Tasmania experiencing a decline in clothing donations this year. Maintaining a diverse range of essentials plays an important role in supporting the frontline efforts of the Salvation Army, with sales from Salvos Stores contributing to funding essential programs across Australia.
“At Salvos Stores, we're dedicated to ensuring our customers across the state have access to high quality clothing at an affordable price point. With the cost of living on the rise we are seeing more customers than ever come through our doors in search of a bargain. That’s why we are encouraging you to clear out your closets and donate any quality preloved items to your local Salvos Store,” said Leigh Murphy, Regional Manager for VIC/TAS Salvos Stores.
“While you extend a helping hand, you will be offered a discount on our diverse product range in-store and online, so you can treat yourself to a rewarding bargain that feels as good as it looks.”
Each year, Salvos Stores contribute over $39 million for The Salvation Army’s frontline work right across the country, which in turn helps over 1 million Aussies in need.
On top of this, shopping at Salvos Stores is good for the environment as they divert around 40 million items from landfill each year through the sale of goods in their store network.
With over 350 stores nationwide and an online store, Salvos Stores are providing affordable, environmentally friendly products to communities right around Australia.
“We're mainly in search of preloved clothing, but will gladly accept donations of accessories, homewares or any other quality items that are in need of a new home. So if you can, please head into one of the 19 stores across Tassie and give generously to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need,” said Leigh Murphy.
