The Recalibrate Gender Equity Awards 2024, happening on the 20th of November at Crown Melbourne, celebrates trailblazers reshaping male-dominated industries by championing inclusivity and creating equitable opportunities.

The Gender Equity Awards honour individuals, organizations, and initiatives that are leading the charge toward more equitable and inclusive workplaces. Now in our third year, these awards shine a spotlight on best practices, celebrate meaningful progress, and inspire action to drive systemic change. By showcasing trailblazers and their impactful strategies, we aim to encourage others to follow their lead, fostering workplaces where diversity thrives and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Empowering Women in Male-Dominated Industries Finalists

  1. Adam Carpenter – Kimberly-Clark SA
    Adam Carpenter led a groundbreaking strategy at Kimberly-Clark SA, boosting female shift workers from 5% to 25% and introducing job-sharing roles for male employees. His initiatives have enhanced manufacturing’s cultural inclusivity while showcasing how equity and flexibility benefit all workers.
  2. Melinda Davis – Empowering Women in Trades
    Melinda Davis is redefining the trades landscape by setting a bold target of 30% female representation by 2030. Her organization provides mentorship and pathways for women and non-binary individuals, breaking stereotypes and driving progress in traditionally gendered roles.
  3. Capgemini’s Relaunch Program
    Capgemini’s Relaunch Program has achieved an impressive 95% retention rate over four years, successfully reskilling women into technology careers. This initiative exemplifies how supportive frameworks can create sustainable career pathways and inspire a more inclusive tech sector.
  4. Origin Energy’s Career Renewal Program
    Origin Energy’s Career Renewal Program has enabled 12 women to re-enter the energy industry, with some returning after more than a decade. With a goal of 40% women’s representation by 2030, the program demonstrates how targeted support can reignite careers and strengthen the workforce.
