SYDNEY, Thursday 5 March 2026 — The WA Government has released their Community Benefit Guidelines outlining the expectations on renewable energy companies paying their fair share to local communities hosting wind turbines and solar panels.Big gas corporations like Chevron and Woodside recently announced annual profits in the billions, while the WA Government is expected to receive only $365 million in total royalties for the 2025-'26 financial year.That amounts to only 0.7 per cent of WA’s revenue with further declines expected.
