TheJoint Standing Committee on Treatieswill hold a second public hearing today for its inquiry into theCouncil of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions(the Macolin Convention). The Macolin Convention is the only multilateral agreement focused on preventing match-fixing, corruption, and other manipulation in sport. It establishes a framework for countries to work together with sports organisations, betting operators, and competition organisers to detect, prevent and punish manipulation of sports competitions.
