Adaptable MBA is a post graduate course that works with you

Charles Darwin University 2 mins read

An adaptable business course designed to slot into the busy schedules of working professionals is set to welcome its first intake of students in the new year.

The Charles Darwin University (CDU) Master of Business Administration (Executive) is an industry-oriented course that enables students to work through each unit at their own pace before finishing their studies with a capstone business project.

CDU Postgraduate Business Course Coordinator Dr Debajyoti Chakrabarty said students would have the option to further tailor the MBA to their careers by using their real projects and reports as alternative assessments.

Dr Chakrabarty said students with a business-related qualification and four years of full-time professional experience would also be eligible for up to 40 credit points to fast-track their studies.

“The course’s target audience is people already working in industry, and I’m really excited about the flexibility it affords those students,” he said.

“We want to provide a course that allows students to see how an MBA relates to their work as well as helping them juggle their studies with their professional experience.”

The course’s online-only approach to learning allows students to create bespoke learning pathways using the 12 self-contained units on offer.

Students will have access to their unit lecturers throughout their studies for one-on-one guidance and support whenever they need.

Dr Chakrabarty said each unit would be offered in six-week intensive study periods, with the first cohort to start in January 2025.

He said students would be able to enrol in the course at the start of any of the five intensive periods throughout the year.

“This course is different because similar qualifications are usually designed with no prior work experience in mind,” Dr Chakrabarty said.

“CDU’s MBA (Executive) focuses on people already working in industry.”
