RETURN AND EARN EXPRESS NOW OPEN IN CROWS NEST

Exchange for Change 2 mins read

Crows Nest locals have a new location to recycle their eligible bottles and cans and redeem the 10c refund with the opening of Return and Earn Express on Willoughby Road in Naremburn.

“Residents in the Willoughby local government area are already enthusiastic users Return and Earn, having returned over 23 million containers for recycling through local return points since the scheme launched in December 2017,” said James Dorney, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, the network operator for Return and Earn.

“This new shopfront style return point features three Return and Earn machines in an indoor setting making it easy to recycle containers all year round, whatever the weather,” Mr Dorney added.

“Return and Earn Express Crows Nest is the 4th return point in the Willoughby area, which means it’s never been more convenient to recycle your bottle and cans, all while being rewarded for their efforts.”

Users of Return and Earn Express Crows Nest can print a voucher for the refund amount, redeemable for cash at Coles, or they can opt for an e-voucher or payment direct into their bank account or Paypal by downloading the Return and Earn app. They can also choose to donate their refund to one of the charity partners listed.

“Return and Earn has become a key fundraising channel for community groups, schools and charities across NSW. Since launching five years ago, more than $42 million has been raised for charities and community groups via donations and fees from hosting return points,” said Danielle Smalley, CEO of Exchange for Change, the scheme coordinator.

Sydney’s Animals For Everyone Rehoming (SAFE Rehoming) is the current local donation partner listed on the Crows Nest machines. All funds raised through Return and Earn will support their work to give as many animals the chance to find a forever home.

Local recyclers can also donate their refunds to the latest state-wide Return and Earn donation appeal in support of Youth Off The Streets and their work providing crisis support, education, housing and employment services for vulnerable young Australians.

To date more than 9.4 billion containers have been returned for recycling through the network of over 600 return points across NSW.

By using this return point, in combination with your household recycling, we can all do our bit to reduce litter and landfill, and contribute to a more sustainable future, said Mr Dorney.

Return and Earn Express Crows Nest is located at 190 Willoughby Road, Naremburn and is open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday (closed on Sundays).
